The Gianna Centre is a Child Safe organisation and has a zero tolerance towards child abuse.
We are committed to promoting and protecting the interests and safety, participation, respect and empowerment of all children and young people. This includes promoting the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children, including Aboriginal children, their families and communities, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and those with a disability.
In December 2016, The Gianna Centre implemented a Child Safety Policy and procedures to meet the Child Safety Standards as outlined by The Victorian Parliament's 'The Betrayal of Trust' Inquiry report recommendations.
All our volunteers have agreed to abide by our Child Safety Code of Conduct and hold valid Working With Children's Checks.
The Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) is the oversight body for the Child Safe standards, for more information refer to the Commission's website.
If you wish to obtain a copy of our Child Safety Policy, or have any concerns or a child safety report please contact our Centre.
